Clarify the Vision
To begin your capital campaign, you will need to discuss your church vision with your Alpha Omega consultants. What are your long-term objectives? Tell your consultants about the history of your church. How long has the church been in this location? Describe your leadership style and church demographics. Why have you decided to do a campaign at this time? In an effort to create a campaign unique to your church, your Alpha Omega consultants will have many questions during your first meeting. At this time they will also answer questions from you and your leadership regarding campaign expectations.
The Campaign Readiness Assessment
With the vision clarified, and a clear understanding of church mission and objectives, the next important step is to ensure that your congregation is spiritually ready for the undertaking of a major campaign.
Entering into a campaign without completing a comprehensive campaign readiness assessment is like showing up at Sunday service without preparing for the message. A case statement depicting details of the call to action and a carefully written church-wide questionnaire begins the assessment process.
Confidential one-on-one interviews of a cross section of couples and individuals from the congregation will provide your Alpha Omega consultants with invaluable information regarding the feasibility of a campaign. The follow up of a mail and/or web based survey sent to those not interviewed will further provide a conclusive basis for making critical leadership decisions regarding not only the campaign, but issues that may affect the future direction of the church.
Your Alpha Omega consultants will conclude the four to six week assessment with the presentation of a detailed one hundred plus page report of a demographic and geographic cross-analysis, campaign recommendations, and financial probability factors for your future campaign.
Your Alpha Omega consultants will tell you if now is the appropriate time to conduct a capital campaign. Conflicting issues and viable solutions will be stated in the report and discussed in detail during the assessment presentation.
